Turkey blast: 1 dead, 10 wounded in explosion in Bursa

Two attacks this year in Istanbul, Turkey's largest city, have been blamed on Islamic State.

A Turkish official told The Associated Press the attack in the popular northwestern tourist destination was carried out by a suicide bomber.

The Reuters news agency, citing a security source and a senior government official, reported that the attack was carried out by female suicide bomber.

Bursa was the second capital of the Ottoman Empire and is dotted with many rulers' tombs and famous buildings, including the Grand Mosque, or Ulu Cami. Earlier reports said one person had been killed in the blast.

At least six major suicide bombings have rocked Turkey since previous year as the country struggles on twin fronts.

Turkey has also faced attacks from far-left groups, mostly targeting the police and security forces.

Local channels broadcast footage of people fleeing the area as police and ambulances rushed to the scene.

On Tuesday, the United States issued a warning over "credible indications" of terrorist threats at tourist attractions in Turkey.

 However, they have tended to use auto bombs, whereas most recent suicide bombings are thought to have been perpetrated by IS, such as in Ankara in October when over 100 people, mainly Kurds, were killed at a peace march. As part of a U.S.-led coalition, it is fighting Islamic State in neighbouring Syria and Iraq.

Kurdish rebels and ISIS militants have both claimed responsibility for attacks in Turkey.

NBA refs say Dwayne Wade wasn't fouled against HornetsThe league's Last Two Minutes report on Game 5 of the Heat-Hornets series indicated that nearly everything was called correctly.
