Orlando becomes 8th destination for Air Berlin

Starting in May 2017, Air Berlin will debut a nonstop link between Orlando and its hub, opening access to more than 57 European destinations, as well as locations in Northern Africa, Turkey and the Middle East.

With this new route, Dusseldorf becomes the 49 th international destination served at Orlando International Airport. Germany is the third-largest European market for the airport, behind the United Kingdom and Ireland.

"Early estimates are that this new partnership will generate more than $32 million economically for Central Florida annually and will help to further highlight our region's business and leisure significance on the global stage," said Greater Orlando Aviation Authority Executive Director Phil Brown.

Air Berlin will fly an Airbus A-330-200 aircraft with 293 available seats five days a week to Orlando.
